The Five Stones Foundation has announced its scholarship winners for the 2010-11 school year
Congratulations to Robert Flinn, Ashley Runck, Jennifer Janssen, and Michael Williams. Each of the previously named winners for the 2010-11 school year have received a scholarship to assist them in achieving their educational goals. Five Stones Foundation scholarships are available to the employees of ESS Clean, Inc. and their children. An independent committee selects all award recipients.
Five Stones Foundation Scholarship Program provides higher education scholarships to the employees of ESS Clean, Inc. and their children. Completing just a few semesters of higher education can often lead to higher paying jobs and greater job opportunities. And yet, many people find higher education courses are out of their reach due to the cost of tuition and books. Thus, the Five Stones Foundation (FSF) Board would like to assist employees and their children in overcoming the financial hurdles associated with higher education by providing financial support.
Robert Flinn is the son of ESS employee, Margaret Flinn, of Bloomington, IL. Robert is currently attending Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. Planning to graduate in December 2011, Robert is studying Public Administration and Geography. Robert hopes that his academic preparation will allow him to acquire the necessary skills to become a positive leader in his community.
Ashley Runck is the daughter of ESS employee, Mark Runck. Ashley also works part time for ESS as a general cleaner. Ashley is studying Secondary Math Education at Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL. With her graduation coming up in May 2011, Ashley, a St. Joseph, IL native hopes to find a teaching position with a local school district.
Jennifer Janssen is the daughter of ESS employee, Mary Janssen, of Normal, IL. Jennifer is attending Ohio State University to study Pharmaceutical Science. Jennifer plans to pursue a career studying how medications interact with the human body. Jennifer is anticipating a May 2016 graduation.
Michael Williams is a current ESS employee. He has been with the company since 2007. Michael is studying Business Marketing at Parkland College in Champaign, IL. With this degree, Michael hopes to be able to transfer to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL to complete a bachelor’s degree in a business related field.
