Twenty volunteers from ESS arrived at the corner of Lierman and Washington in Urbana on Saturday August 25, to build a community garden for a struggling neighborhood. The LNAC (Liermann Neighborhood Action Committee) has been planning a community garden for six months. ESS stepped up to provide workspace for preparing the raised garden beds, funds for materials, and volunteers to assemble and place the raised beds. Residents from the community and volunteers all worked together to make the day a success.
