ESS Clean, Inc. is a Diamond level sponsor for the Effingham County Relay for Life event happening at the Teutopolis Junior High track 7/12/13. ESS has branches in Effingham, Bloomington, and Urbana. All ESS branches are supporting the event in different ways from donating items to a company-wide garage sale held at our Effingham Branch along with selling pork burgers, donating money, and walking at the event. Ron LaVallie, ESS Effingham Branch Manager, has been working hard to organize our efforts for this event.

Ed Schmidt, 58, is our 1st Shift Supervisor at our Urbana Branch and is a 4 year employee of ESS. Ed is really going the distance to give back to the Effingham County Relay for Life event. He has been very creative in his fundraising efforts from doing handyman repair for a co-worker in exchange for a donation, washing windows on the weekend in downtown Champaign for several businesses leaving a note asking for a voluntary donation to his Relay for Life fundraising page, and posting it on his Facebook page many times to gain support from friends and family. Ed enjoys cycling and will be making it a 24 hour event instead of the scheduled 12 hour event by starting at 6am riding his bike 76 miles from his home in Champaign to the event in Teutopolis. He expects to arrive by 3pm and will take a little time to swim to refresh from the long ride and rest a bit before being a part of the walking portion of the event. He plans to stay until 6am to complete his 24 hour personal tribute to the Relay for Life.

We here at ESS Clean, Inc. are very proud to have Ed on our team and are humbled by his dedication and efforts with this important event this year.
