We would like to congratulate our Operations Manager, Jacob Shaw, for receiving the 40 under 40 Award this past week. This award is given to those who have achieved levels of excellence in professional and personal development and have been involved as a volunteer or served in civic organizations.

Community Involvement: Jacob, is a member of the Savoy Rotary Club, where he served as club service chair, and participated in activities including roadside cleanups along Route 45 in Savoy, food packs at Eastern Illinois Food Bank, Breakfast with Santa, among others.   Jacob has volunteer for Habit for Humanity.  He is a member of the Savoy United Methodist Church, where he has served on different committees, and he has had the opportunity to help coach his daughters’ basketball and softball teams.

The best advice he has received: He recently attended a leadership conference where the presenter, John Spence, talked about “making the very complex awesomely simple.” In this presentation, he gave the following examples of awesomely simple ways to be successful in life: 1) Show up on time 2) Do what you say you will do 3) Finish what you started 4) Say please and thank you 5) Always give a little more than what was expected.
